Having wrapped a Canadian arena tour supporting Metric this past November, Stars promptly decamped to Europe to continue the musical journey of their latest and greatest album, The North. Released on September 4, 2012, The North debuted #5 on the Soundscan Album Chart and #3 on the Digital Albums Chart in Canada – marking the highest debuts for the band in their career. They also earned a Top 50 Album Chart debut in the U.S.
Stars then announced an international headlining tour, which began in February 2012 and will run through April 2013. This tour is allowing the quintet to pass through Australia, Asia, the U.S. and back through Canada. This tour also contained some very special ‘themed’ back-to-back plays in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. The double-play shows dubbed the “Evenings Of Sex & Death” speak to the recurring and ever-present themes of sex and death that span the albums of the group’s storied career. The Montreal and Toronto dates, have come and gone, but the Vancouver date is looming on the horizon.
To add to the double-play stop in Vancouver, the West Coast can catch this band out in Nelson, Kelowna, and Victoria. You should not wait to go out and by your tickets for these shows. We had out team out in full force, covering the Metric tour in 2012, and one of the main by-products of those shows was an appreciation for Stars. They work for your love, they leave it all on that stage, and it makes you want more.
Stars is an up and coming force, see them now before they are out on their own arena tour.
