Check out our full review of Courtney Barnett @ Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver
There was much anticipation for Courtney Barnett’s concert at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, with tickets selling out quickly. The singer/songwriter from Melbourne, Australia has garnered critical acclaim and numerous award nominations and wins, and this attention is well deserved. Her lyrics may be rambling, wordy, and delivered in a dead-pan Aussie accent (not a bad thing!), but her live shows are full of energy, intensity, and blistering guitar playing. It was LOUD!
The 28 year-old has been touring continuously since the release of her debut album, Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit, just over a year ago, and her fans are hoping that she has a long and prolific career. For now it is clear that Barnett and her bandmates (bass player Bones Sloane and drummer Dave Mudie) are having the time of their lives on the road and on the stage.
