Peter Hook and the Light @ Cats Cradle – May 25th 2018

Peter Hook @ Cats Cradle 2018

It was roughly eighteen months ago that Peter Hook, co-founder and former bassist of Joy Division and New Order, brought his current band the Light to Cat’s Cradle. Peter Hook and the Light performed both the New Order and Joy Division Substance albums as well as some additional favorites. The show was top notch, so we were more than a little excited when we learned that the tour was making a victory lap of sorts and would again be stopping at the Cradle on its Spring North American run.

The Cradle was packed on Friday night as Hooky and his bandmates took to the stage, sans an opening act, and proceeded to play a blistering set that clocked-in at over two full hours. Having caught Peter Hook and the Light at the Cradle back in 2016, expectations were high leading into this show, and they were quickly exceeded. Hooky was positively on fire, as he and the band delivered a monumental performance that had even some dedicated long-term fans commenting that this was one of the top performances of the Spring tour. There are only a couple of dates left, so if you get the chance, Go! You will not be sorry…
