It was a night of deathcore breakdowns and mosh pits on Friday night at the Imperial. The main support was from Texan’s Upon A Burning Body, who gave no one a reason to stand still. The charisma of vocalist Danny Leal got everyone jumping within minutes. Guitarist Ruben Alvarez provided scorching riffs and backing vocals.
Suicide Silence then took to the stage performing their 2007 debut album ‘The Cleansing’ in full. Eddie Hermida did an excellent job of covering for the tragic loss of original vocalist Mitch Lucker and gave the microphone to any fans who wanted to sing along with the band.
After they played through the entire album they came back on stage to do a few of their newer songs such as ‘You Only Live Once’ and ‘Doris’. Drummer Alex Lopez destroyed his drum kit at the end of the set by stabbing his toms with cymbal stands and throwing a guitar into the middle of it.
