I am a little obsessive-compulsive.
When I find a band, or artist, that I really like, I tend to go crazy for them. I look for every video on Youtube, I search through the various music repositories endlessly looking for new material.
One such band that has really stuck in my brain lately is Icona Pop. For the last 6 months or so, they have found their way into every playlist I have put together. They are poppy, and catchy, and they have ample amounts of attitude. With hypnotic songs like All Night and Downtown, its really hard not to love them.
Check out, All Night right here.
In the summer I heard they were coming to Vancouver to play the Commodore Ballroom in late August. I was overly excited, and counting down the days until the show. Then it got postponed, and I was devastated. I thought for sure they would cancel the show, just because I wanted to see them so bad.
Then in mid-September, they announced a new date. That new date is only 10 days from today, and I am starting to get excited.
This group consists of two lovely ladies from Stockholm, Sweden, Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo. They are taking the world by storm. Their no-holds-barred, take-no-prisoner, high-energy approach to music is intense, and in your face. They will make you want to dance and sweat. They are quite lovely.
I have my ticket in hand, and will be at the show, ready to lose myself.
If you want to come and check it out, which I urge everyone to do, here is the info:
