Photo Gallery: Bastille + Mondo Cozmo @ Red Hat Amphitheater – May 12th 2017

Bastille brought a diverse crowd of fans young and old to Red Hat Amphitheater for the culmination of their two-months-long Wild, Wild World tour. Hailing from London, the electro-pop band skyrocketed to fame back in 2013, with the dueling singles “Flaws” and “Pompeii” off their record Bad Blood.  On this tour, supported by indie alternative rockers Mondo Cozmo, Bastille brought an infectious energy as well as a fantastic light and video show. Throughout the set, the massive video board featured a wide variety of visuals. From comedy skits to a “making of” production for their death-defying “Wild World” album cover, there was something new for every track.

Dan Smith (vocals, aux percussion) constantly engaged with the crowd, pointing out signs and even performing a couple songs from the seated area of the venue. For the encore, he surprised everyone by coming out on top of trailers positioned stage right- and performed two songs from above the throng of eager fans who left their seats.  The two-plus hour, 22 song performance came to a conclusion with Bastille’s hit, Pompeii.  As it was the final song of the tour, Mondo Cozmo came back out to collaborate and perform the track together. The crowd chanted the “ey-oh” interlude of this track for what seemed like ages after the band left the stage. All in all, Bastille was an infectious, atmospheric experience I’d recommend to anyone.
