Canadian Music Hall of Fame members Blue Rodeo stopped by the Save On Foods Memorial Arena for their Victoria BC stop of their Canadian Tour in support of Live At Massey Hall, their fourth collection of live tracks that was recorded at Toronto’s historic performing arts theater venue. On my way to the arena I was reminiscing of the previous times that I was fortunate to photograph Blue Rodeo and the Jim Cuddy Band. My journey into concert photography started with the break given to me by Susan de Cartier and Starfish Entertainment, who are the management team behind Blue Rodeo, which makes each time I have the privilege of shooting this iconic group a little more meaningful.
BR smoothly walked onto the stage to a set that looked and felt like a cozy living room. They opened with “Trust Yourself”, and the crowd was into it right from the get-go. 24 songs and 2 hours later, our evening ended and we are now left to reflect about tonight’s amazing show and start the countdown until the next time Blue Rodeo comes to town.
Thanks Blue Rodeo for a great night, Susan de Cartier for allowing me pursue my passion, and Concert Addicts to shoot on their behalf.
