Dead Quiet + Waingro + We Hunt Buffalo @ Rickshaw Theatre – November 17th 2017

It was a night full of Vancouver’s finest local talents celebrating Dead Quiet’s latest album release ‘Grand Rites’. After the first couple of bands (Black Wizard and Heron) We Hunt Buffalo took to the stage. The fuzz rockers played a couple of tracks from their last album ‘Living Ghost’ such as ‘Back To The River’, as well as some brand new unreleased material. This was also their first Vancouver show with their newest bass player Cliff.

Next up was another 3 piece outfit, Waingro. Lead singer and guitarist Brian Sepanzyk strummed out sludgy riffs at lighting speeds before roaring out furious vocals. Halfway through the set they thanked Dead Quiet for having them out and paid tribute by playing two Soundgarden covers; Rusty Cage and Jesus Christ Pose.

After a whirlwind of openers, it was time for stoner rockers Dead Quiet to play through their newest album ‘Grand Rites’ in its entirety. The stage was setup with orchestral drums, keyboards, amps, pedals and a banjo. The members came on stage to blast the crowd away with their opening track ‘Moon Curser’. Despite the band only being together since 2013, they each had great stage presence and fed off each other brilliantly.
