Metric + July Talk @ Pacific Coliseum – April 18th 2019

Canadian msuciain Emily Haines of Metric performing at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, BC on April 18th 2019

Canadian pop rock band Metric and Toronto-native alt-rockers July Talk performed at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, BC on Thursday, April 18th 2019.

July Talk started things off with a thank you to the Coast Salish people and appreciation for letting us all enjoy time on their ancestral lands. It was a heartwarming and empowering touch to opening the show.

Their was, as usual, was beautifully orchestrated and capped off by the wonderfully irregular antics between the two lead singers, Leah Fay and Peter Dreimanis. They are one of the great live bands and they reinforced that premise with a solid set on this night.

Band lead Emily Haines of Metric strolled out on stage for their turn at the wheel. It was a bevvy of strobes pulsing in time with rhythmic waves of dancey beats the band in infamous for.

Just before they delved into their third song, Emily took a moment to thank the people and thank bands like July Talk for changing the music landscape in Canada.

This was just a great night out, something to escape into and be absorbed into.

A moment of release and elevated heart rates.

Great job by all those involved.
