There is no denying why The Commodore Ballroom is ranked as one of the best live music venues in Canada, and Wednesday night’s sold our performance by both the opener Robyn Hitchcock, and the headliner “The Psychedelic Furs”. The audience was treated to 80’s hits “Heartbreak beat”, “Heaven”, “Alice’s House” and “Pretty in Pink”. The enthusiasm of saxophonist Mars Williams playing along with Richard Butler’s Bowiesque moves provided much entertainment. The lack of set lists on the floor indicated there is little variation from show to show in the songs selected.
The current Furs lineup consists of brothers Richard Butler (vocals) and Tim Butler (bass), Mars Williams (saxophone), Rich Good (guitar), Amanda Kramer (keyboards), and Paul Garisto (drums).
