Taylor Swift‘s set at CenturyLink Stadium in Seattle was nothing short of extraordinary and judging by the roar of the 56,000 people in attendance her fans agreed. CenturyLink is built to be loud and for extended periods of time between her songs we could barely hear ourselves think over the literally show-stopping screams. The show itself featured everything from floating gold orbs transporting Taylor between the three stages that she performed on at various points, to a massive moving LCD wall that housed not only her band but also her dancing team through the show. Also featured heavily were snakes. From massive inflate-able Cobras that towered over all the stages to incredibly well-done graphics filling the football stadium-sized LCD wall, they were everywhere Swift even rode inside a cobra skeleton ribcage pop-star holder as she was floated above the audience back to the main stage. It looks like perhaps she’s reclaiming the snake and it looks incredible.
Charli XCX opened the show strong with an energetic set covering her own material playing Boom Clap, Break the Rules, Unlock it, Boys and Five in the Morning, a song she was featured on in I Love it (Icona pop) and closing with a killer cover of Iggy Azalea’s Fancy. there was a lovely surprise re-appearance during Taylor’s 9th song “Shake it off” where the two performed together on the far back audience left stage to the back of the stadium.
Charli XCX’s start time had to be pushed out an hour after the 2nd opener Camila Cabello fell ill the night before and was forced to cancel. ConcertAddicts sends it’s well wishes to Camila and hopes for a speedy recovery!!
