Reuben and the Dark + Faux Prix @ The Palace Theatre – February 28th 2020

Reuben and the Dark are currently on their North American un|love tour. Last Friday night, they were playing back home at the Palace Theatre in Calgary. It was a sold out crowd at The Palace for Calgary’s hometown band, Reuben and the Dark. The opening act was FAUX PRIX, (Translation: Fake Prize. We can spend so much energy in pursuit of something just to find out that nothing is ever as it seems).  FAUX PRIX is a new project by Bradley Hanan Carter from Black English. Hanan Carter was performing for the first time as FAUX PRIX on tour supporting Reuben and the Dark.  Keep an eye out for more releases and tour info for 2020.

The crowd was a great mix of young and old Reuben and the Dark fans. It was a magical experience to see Reuben and his band play in this intimate theatre venue.  The crowd’s energy was consistent for the journey the band took us on and the fans in the front row were hanging on every note and lyric. Reuben’s hard work and dedication to his craft has paid off and he let the crowd know that he was incredibly grateful to family, friends and fans who have supported him over the years.

Reuben and the Dark have been having an exceptional year. They announced their new album un|love, shared a new song called “Faultline” and they’ve now had two songs featured in two massive movie trailers! The song “Black Water” was featured on Netflix’s highly anticipated movie trailer El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie. Reuben was also in attendance at the El Camino premiere with the cast and crew. A photo with Reuben and Aaron Paul aka Jesse Pinkman can be found on Reuben’s instagram. Their cover of Louis Armstrong’s “What A Wonderful World“  is featured in the Dolittle movie trailer, starring Robert Downey Jr., Emma Thompson, John Cena, Kumail Nanjiani, Rami Malek, Octavia Spencer and more!  Wishing them all the best on their remaining tour dates and continued success in the future!
