It’s been 36 years since Northern Irish punk band Stiff Little Fingers last played The Commodore Ballroom, and by the looks of the crowd many attended that concert as well. They are a band that came out of the original ’70s UK punk scene, and many of their songs are highly political, drawing from their experience living in Belfast during the violent times. Songs like “Alternative Ulster” and “Suspect Device” have become punk anthems.
This tour features founding members Jake Burns and Ali McMordie, joined by Ian McCallum and Steve Grantley who have both been with the band since the mid-90s. The band was formed in 1977 when they were still teenagers, and Burns and McMordie still perform with the same passion as they did almost 40 years ago.
