The Legendary Pink Dots will reach their fourth decade as a band next year, but they’ve already begun the festivities with a 40th anniversary tour of the US. The line-up has shifted several times over the years, but core members Edward Ka-Spel and Phil Knight (aka The Silverman) have remained a constant.

The group released their latest album, Angel in the Detail, in August, and more than half of the twelve-song setlist at the Metro Gallery in Baltimore, MD was drawn from it. But that didn’t mean that they didn’t make room for several classics, including “Disturbance” from 1991’s The Maria Dimension, “Just a Lifetime” and “Hellsville” from 1990’s The Crushed Velvet Apocalypse, and “Andromeda Suite” from 1995’s Chemical Playshool 8.

Orbit Service, the project of Denver, Colorado musician Randall Frazier, opened the set. His latest album the door to the sky is out now.
