Metal, Horror, and Halloween make for one hell of a night of entertainment, with screams of catharsis instead of screams of terror. While the reality of Trivium lead singer and guitarist Matt Heafy’s absence was the topic of conversation before any of the bands started, all of the bands delivered energetic and enthralling sets. Howard Jones of Light The Torch and Johannes Eckerström of Avatar filled in for Matt on vocals, while Jared Dines of YouTube fame handled his guitar parts.
The Jester has the floor
Avatar is unlike any band I’ve ever seen before, part circus show, part metal extravaganza, all entertaining as hell. How this band isn’t headlining larger venues in the States is beyond me. They grab you from moment one and never let go, grinning manically the whole way.
While this tour is wrapping up, it was one hell of a night, with every band delivering a set for the ages.
