Redmond is a quiet suburb of Seattle, mainly known as the home of Microsoft. Saying it’s an affluent, docile community is an understatement. Yet, when The Unheavenly Skye Tour was announced, a stop in the Seattle Adjacent suburb was included at Marymoor Park. The usual mix of indie rock, pop, and adult contemporary concerts Marymoor hosts got a much-needed dose of rock and metal. With the grandiose, soaring guitars of Coheed and Cambria, the sludgy, psychedelic grit of Mastodon, and the unhinged raw energy of Every Time I Die, this wasn’t your average summer concert in the park. Thank god for that.
I was lucky enough to capture the show, and it was amazing!
