Hailing from London, England, indie rock band Yuck have endured some sizable changes since releasing their first album in 2011, with singer and founding member Daniel Blumberg having left the band. Rather than call it a day, Max Bloom stepped up, taking over most of the vocal duties. Yuck have hit the road on the back of their Southern Skies EP released last year and a new single “Hold Me Closer,” which was released last month. They recently stopped by Kings in Raleigh, NC on a Saturday night.

Yuck clearly didn’t miss Blumberg during their inspired set, that featured a mix of both new tracks and classic songs. The band’s fuzzy pop rock songs were well received by the crowd and the show culminated with Bloom jumping off stage to end the set from the middle of the crowd. Based on the show at Kings, Yuck have successfully moved on and are forging ahead, proving that sometimes re-creation is a positive force.

Opening the evening was local punk-influenced indie band Museum Mouth. They were followed by Hurry, the new band from Matt Scottoline of Everyone Everywhere. Check out the photos below.
