Album Review: All At Once by Airborne Toxic Event

Ah yes! A great album has been bestowed upon us. Tuesday a tasty little treat was dropped by The Airborne Toxic Event called All At Once. All I can say is wow! This is a bumping little number that keeps you interested from beginning to end.

The best song on this, for me, was The Kids Are Ready To Die. This song has attitude and an eerie atmosphere. For some reason I hear Neil Diamond tones in the singers voice. The power exuded is intense and beautiful. I was drawn in and overtaken by the lyrics, and the simplicity of the instruments. I think everyone should put this in their playlist and have listen, it is an amazing little song.

The entire album has that New York artist sound, everything is powerful, yet organic. The vocals are much like those of The Nationals Matt Berninger, very poetic and filled with statement-making power. Alot of the songs contain this sound that is reminiscent of The xx, the guitar work has that eerie scratch to it. While they incorporation of well timed harmonies and swinging beats has a sort of Noah And The Whale additive. These three points really made this album for me. As much as they are similar in these three aspects, they are vastly their own entities. This album is tender morsel, with a spicy kick.
