brand.LIVE and Live Nation to announce line-up for 2012 edition of Virgin Mobile Presents LIVE at Squamish
Festival producers brand.LIVE are pleased to announce a partnership with Live Nation Entertainment for the 2012 installation of Virgin Mobile Presents LIVE at Squamish Music and Arts Festival. The partnership will see the two organizations collaborate for the 2012 event set to take place over the August 24th to 26th weekend. The official artist line-up for the festival will be announced on April 4th at a launch party at the Commodore Ballroom.
“Live Nation produces some of the greatest music festivals on the planet and we are delighted to add their expertise to help grow this tremendous event,” says Jordan Melville, Managing Director for brand.LIVE.
Paul Haagenson, President of Live Nation Canada added, “Virgin Mobile presents LIVE at Squamish has quickly emerged into a great and unique destination for fans and artists alike. We’re excited to be working with brand.LIVE to bring the best in local, national, and international talent to Squamish in 2012”.
Virgin Mobile will return as the festival’s presenting partner, offering its Members special pricing and pre-sale access to tickets, priority access to the festival grounds, an exclusive VIP viewing deck and several other Member perks.
Last year’s event saw crowds upwards of 10,000 per day and major acts including Girl Talk, Weezer, Metric, Major Lazer and John Butler Trio. Festival organizers also introduced a host of popular features such as the Virgin Mobile Cafe, a Silent Disco and the Belmont Barber Shop – a functioning barbershop and acoustic jam area hosted by local guitar hero Rich Hope.
“Our goal was always to create an event where the onsite experience was talked about as much as the artists on stage, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. We’re excited to keep adding more new content and this year fans can look forward to expanded Friday night programming and increased local camping options,” said Melville.
The Launch party will feature recent Peak Performance winner Current Swell, coming back from performances at this year’s South by South West and runner up The Matinee, recently showcased at the 2012 Canadian Music Week.
