Live Review: Post Malone @ The United Center, Chicago – October 1st 2022

Multi-genre recording Post Malone makes a stop at the historic United Center in Chicago on October 1st. Known for genre-blending music and working with artists ranging from Migos, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj and amongst others. Also on the tour was a artist by the name of Tyla Yaweh and Swae Lee who is one 1/2 of the hip hop duo Rae Sremmund. When he announced the Runaway Tour, fans around the country lined up to get their hands on one of the hottest tickets this summer/fall. The show is sold out here in Chicago and fans from all over the city and suburbs came out to see post and they’re in for a treat. The stage was different with a runway type of style stage and had the lights coming down on the stage. The lighting itself was pretty good and the big screens as the backdrop made it easier for fans that purchased tickets sitting in higher level seats to see Post Malone.

Opening artists Tyla Yaweh was the first act on the stage. His set wasn’t long and the fans response to his music was very bland and just not really into his songs to much. Some people in the crowd enjoyed his songs but not to many. He did one more song that kind of told his back story on how he was homeless, didn’t have any money but still wanted to chase his dreams. That was the theme of his set. If you have a dream, make sure you follow it & no one else can you tell you any different.

Next up was Swae Lee. For those that may not be familiar with his performance. It’s very high energy from start to finish and plenty songs that the fans sing along to. With his catchy hooks and upbeat songs, it was right for him to make his Chicago stop on the tour. Most of the songs he performed was off his solo album named Swaecation. A lot of the album had his slow tempo songs and was mainly for the females that listen to that side on Swae Lee. His performance was really good. He went into the crowd and some of the crowd was rapping his songs which was cool. Which it made it nice that it was no sercuity behind him when he was performing in the crowd. He gave out roses to the crowd and he even gave his shoes to a lucky fan and signed them also.

When the whole arena got dark then it’s time for the main act. Post Malone came out and the United Center roof almost came off from all of his fans screaming so loud for him. He didn’t waste any time going into his first song. The fans knew it word for word. Once he was done with his first song, he introduced himself then went into the set. He did have some pyro which was unexpected but it was a great addition to the show. The lighting for his show was incredible and even fans took photos with their phones and it came out great. Once he was done, he talked a little about his process to being the huge artist that he is and people felt like they can do anything they want to if they’re serious. If you’re a fan of Post Malone then grab your ticket ASAP. For maybe the casual fan that haven’t heard his music to much. It’ll be something new yet different in a good way. Their money was worth and everyone at the United Center wasn’t sitting down at all. The tour runs through November 21st and tickets can be found on Ticketmaster.
