Live Review: Yeat @ PNE Forum, Vancouver – April 3rd 2023

Last night, the PNE Forum in Vancouver, BC, was packed with a wild and energetic audience eagerly awaiting the arrival of rising rapper, Yeat.

For those who may not be familiar, Yeat has been on the rise to fame for the last few years with his unique sound and larger than life persona. His songs have a huge presence on the social media platform Tik Tok, with his songs “Money So Big” and “Get Busy” gaining popularity. The line to get into the show wrapped around the building and out onto Hastings Street, showcasing just how much hype there was surrounding this event.

The crowd was primarily teenagers, but there were some older fans mixed in, and the energy was palpable even before the show started. However, it quickly became apparent that the venue was not prepared for the sheer excitement of concert-goers that showed up, as people were getting dangerously crushed against the stage barriers. To try and avoid any potential injuries, the organizers had to use a sign on the giant stage backdrop video screen that said “please move back” and asked the audience to give each other some space. Which surprisingly the maniacal music maniacs complied with.

Then Yeat took to the stage.

Despite the early warning, the show was intense from the start, with the audience going completely crazy for the whole performance. The concert had to be stopped a half dozen times to allow the audience to move back and give some breathing room to those at the front. But even with these brief pauses, the energy never wavered, and everyone in the general admission pit area constantly had their cell phones out recording as they jumped around wildly with unbridled enthusiasm.

One thing that was impossible not to notice was Yeat’s infamous face covering, which he never took off during the entire show. It added an air of mystery to his already enigmatic persona and only served to ramp up the onlookers.

The music itself was a mix of fun and bouncy beats that had everyone in the audience dancing along. While Yeat’s style may not be for everyone, there’s no denying that his music and his shows are a great representation of how wild and raw the current generation’s spirit is. The songs were infectious, and the performance was electric, with every beat and every lyric driving the audience into a frenzy.

In conclusion, the Yeat concert at PNE Forum on April 3rd, 2023, was an explosive and chaotic good time for those who appreciate this type of music. While the venue was unprepared for the sheer volume of attendees, the energy of the crowd and the performance never faltered. The music isn’t for everyone, but for those who are willing to let go and embrace the chaos, this was a night that won’t be forgotten anytime soon.
