Ozzfest Returns in 2027 With Three International Festival Dates

Ozzfest will rise again in 2027 with three international festival dates connecting the event’s past, its future and the enduring legacy of Ozzy Osbourne.

The returning festival will open July 10 at The National Bowl in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom. It will cross the Atlantic for a September 11 event at Glen Helen Amphitheater in San Bernardino, California, before completing its announced schedule with a September 18 debut at Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City.

Sharon Osbourne will personally curate the lineups, with Live Nation promoting the events. The participating artists have not yet been revealed, but organizers say a full announcement will follow.

The three locations give the comeback a carefully considered shape. Rather than attempting to immediately recreate the travelling format associated with Ozzfest’s largest years, the 2027 edition will establish three major destination events in markets with strong connections to heavy music.

Ozzfest Returns to Milton Keynes

The National Bowl holds an important place in Ozzfest history. The festival made its British debut there in 1998 with a lineup featuring Black Sabbath, Pantera, Slayer, Foo Fighters and Soulfly. It returned to Milton Keynes in 2001, when Black Sabbath shared the event with acts including Slipknot, Tool, Papa Roach and Disturbed.

The 2027 UK edition was originally expected to take place at Villa Park in Birmingham, the site of Ozzy Osbourne’s final performance with Black Sabbath during 2025’s Back to the Beginning concert. Continuing construction at the stadium made it unavailable for live events during the required period, prompting organizers to relocate rather than delay the festival.

That change brings Ozzfest back to a venue already woven into its history. Download Festival promoter Andy Copping, who worked with Sharon Osbourne on Back to the Beginning, is also involved in the festival’s UK return.

Ozzfest Goes Back to Its California Roots

The September 11 concert at Glen Helen Amphitheater will return Ozzfest to the Southern California grounds where its story began in 1996.

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne created the festival after Ozzy was unable to secure a place on another major touring festival. What began as a response to that rejection developed into an influential platform for heavy music, combining established headliners with emerging artists who often found their largest audiences on Ozzfest’s additional stages.

Across its history, the festival featured artists such as Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Slayer, Tool, Slipknot, System of a Down, Pantera, Linkin Park, Disturbed and countless others. Its value was not limited to the top of the poster. Ozzfest became equally known for giving developing bands the opportunity to perform in front of audiences far larger than those available on the club circuit.

Mexico City Welcomes Ozzfest for the First Time

The final confirmed date will bring Ozzfest to Mexico City for the first time. Estadio GNP Seguros will host the festival on September 18, adding Mexico to an international history that has previously included editions in the United States, United Kingdom and Japan.

Mexico City’s inclusion makes the 2027 return more than a recreation of Ozzfest’s earlier years. It expands the festival into a new market while acknowledging the enormous heavy-metal audience found throughout Mexico and Latin America.

What to Expect From the Ozzfest 2027 Lineup

No performers have been confirmed publicly. Previous comments from Sharon and Jack Osbourne, however, indicate that discovering young talent will remain central to the festival’s purpose. Sharon has described that opportunity as something Ozzy considered deeply important, while Jack has emphasized the historical role of Ozzfest’s second stage as an incubator for developing bands.

That suggests the 2027 lineups may balance major artists with a new generation of performers rather than functioning only as a retrospective celebration. Each city may also receive a distinct bill, although organizers have not yet confirmed whether the three lineups will be identical.

The events will be the first in-person Ozzfest editions since the festival’s New Year’s Eve celebration at The Forum in 2018. They will also mark its first return since Ozzy’s death in 2025, placing the festival in a new position as both a living platform for heavy music and a continuation of his influence.
