Jim James Announces 2026 ‘Wowed Out’ Solo Acoustic Tour

Jim James is heading out on a solo acoustic tour.

The My Morning Jacket frontman has announced the Wowed Out Solo Acoustic Tour, a short run of intimate shows celebrating his upcoming new album, Wowed Out, which arrives August 28th.

The tour begins November 28th in Louisville at the Brown Theatre before making stops in Chicago, New York, Boston, Boulder, and Los Angeles.

For the shows, James says he will perform new songs from Wowed Out, along with selections from across his solo albums, My Morning Jacket songs, a few covers, and “other fun stuff.”

That sounds about right.

James has always been one of those artists who can make a room feel huge or tiny depending on what the song needs. With My Morning Jacket, he has helped build some of the most expansive, cosmic, reverb-soaked rock of the last two decades. On his own, he has moved through folk, soul, psychedelia, and quiet spiritual reflection with the same kind of open-hearted curiosity.

A solo acoustic tour feels like a nice way to bring those worlds together.

Wowed Out will feature all instruments performed by James, with Brian Reitzell on drums and percussion. The album was mixed by Emily Lazar Lodge and James.

The title track’s video is out now, with concept, analog videographic illusions, and editing by W.G. Rickel.

A portion of proceeds from the Wowed Out tour will support TAC and its work with LGBTQ youth across the country, as well as Arthur’s Earth Sanctuary in Louisville, Kentucky.
