Ashe Shares New Single “Stop The Wedding!”

Ashe is back with something dramatic.

The acclaimed singer-songwriter has released her new single “Stop The Wedding!” alongside a video directed by Silken Weinberg. The track is also her debut release with Atlantic Records.

Produced by Noah Conrad, whose credits include Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan, “Stop The Wedding!” was written by Ashe alongside Conrad and Annika Bennett. The song leans into classic pop drama, with shifting tempos, stacked vocals, and sweeping string arrangements giving the whole thing a big, cinematic feeling.

The idea came from a very real place.

Ashe thought of the song on her own wedding day last year, when she married fellow musician John Clark Canada outside Nashville. The moment made her reflect on the difference between that day and her first wedding, a short-lived marriage that helped inspire her breakout hit “Moral of the Story.”

This time, things felt different.

Ashe has said she was thinking about how perfect the day felt, while also remembering how difficult her first wedding had been. Now in her 30s, she felt a sense of autonomy she did not feel when she was 23. If something had felt wrong, she knew she could stop it.

That idea became “Stop The Wedding!”

It is a clever full-circle moment for an artist whose career was shaped, in part, by writing honestly about marriage, divorce, heartbreak, and self-discovery.

The new song follows a busy creative stretch for Ashe. Last year, she teamed up with longtime friend and collaborator Finneas as The Favors, releasing their debut album The Dream. Her most recent solo album, Willson, arrived in 2024 and completed a trilogy that began with Ashlyn in 2021 and continued with Rae in 2022.

Ashe will also hit the road this summer supporting Benson Boone, with dates in San Jose, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and San Diego.
