Troye Sivan has officially entered a new era with the release of “She’s The Best,” the title track from his forthcoming fourth studio album.
She’s The Best will arrive October 9 through Interscope Records, marking Sivan’s first release with the label and his first studio album since 2023’s acclaimed Something To Give Each Other.
Written by Sivan alongside Leland, George Daniel, Jack Antonoff and Styalz Fuego, “She’s The Best” begins with understated spoken verses before guitars, strings and synths gradually build around him. That restraint eventually gives way to a euphoric pop release, balancing cheeky confidence with genuine tenderness.
The song is both a celebration and a love letter to the women who have shaped Sivan’s identity, creativity and sense of belonging. That tribute extends particularly to trans women, drag queens, feminine-presenting people and the wider feminine spirit that has remained a constant throughout his life.
The single arrives with a video directed by Gordon von Steiner, who previously collaborated with Sivan on “Rush,” “Got Me Started” and “One of Your Girls.” Inspired by the energy of queer New York during the 1980s, the new visual combines glamour, sensuality and fluid expressions of femininity through a highly stylized editorial lens.
It also features a cinematic appearance from fellow Australian icon Nicole Kidman, bringing two very different corners of Australian pop culture together for what should quickly become one of the release’s defining moments.
The forthcoming album is being presented as an immersive project intended to be watched as much as it is heard. Across the record, Sivan explores desire, identity, loneliness, joy and queer belonging while embracing the many contradictions contained within his life.
“She’s The Best is a painting that captures my life in all of its moods and colours,” Sivan explained. “It explores the high-octane highs of the last few years, and the solitude and longing that sat underneath.”
He described the record as chaotic, layered, troubled, organic and alive, calling it the truest and most creative version of himself he has shared.
The album follows a massive period for Sivan. Something To Give Each Other debuted inside the Top 5 of the Billboard 200 and topped the Dance/Electronic Albums chart. Its era produced “Rush,” “One of Your Girls” and “Got Me Started” before culminating in the 2024 SWEAT Tour with Charli xcx.
With “She’s The Best,” Sivan appears ready to take everything that worked about that explosive period and push it somewhere more personal, complicated and emotionally revealing.
